WHILE YOU WERE SLEEPING…

So I took a chance while Chuck was sleeping to check out the computer and sure enough it was on. I was tempted to pee on it, but my Mom might be upset. Of course that doesn’t always stop me, but I am so cute that she forgives me anyway. So I am stealing Chuck’s blog because he can’t have all of the fun. I deserve some of the spotlight just for putting up with him. The best thing about Chuck is he is a really sound sleeper. Many things go on around him and he doesn’t notice because he is asleep while I am wide awake checking things out. My normal position on our little Chihuahua dog bed is right on top of Chuck and Cayenne. This gives me a sense of power and I feel like I am in charge. Of course I don’t really care about stuff like that, but it sounds like something Chuck would say. Thank you for letting me “fill in” for the sleeping blogger. Don’t say anything ok?

HE'S AWAKE ISN'T HE? HAS HE NOTICED ME YET?

ONE TIME GOOD DOG

In the past I think we have discussed some of my attributes. There is something else I would like to add to my list of “Why Chuck is Great”. I am a vision of patience, an angel in waiting, the epitome of quiet during the chaos. When there is food involved I know you all think of me as a little dog/pig, however when dinner rolls around, it is I who is calm and quiet. I wait patiently for the moment when I am released to scarf! While the big dogs are barking like crazy, Lacey is howling and Cayenne is screeching like a banshee, you will find me quietly waiting for my dinner to be served. This may be hard for you to believe but it is true. So if you needed something else to add to your list of why you like me so much, this will probably do it. In the future I may share some other fleeting moments when I am a good dog, but I don’t want to share it all at once. It will seem like it happens more often if I make a big deal out of each individual behavior. This also means that I can’t think of anything else right now.

As our Irish holiday is upon us, I thought this might be a good time to review how lucky I am. This year I will not be converting to being an Irish Chihuahua. I am just going to share in the luck of the Irish and hope that I don’t have to eat a shamrock to get it. (Unless Shamrocks taste like ham) I am so lucky that I have a good home and I get to do whatever I want even if I am not supposed to. I am free to howl at my leisure and run around like an idiot and I enjoy those moments. I am free to scarf my food and beg for more and I am free to steal from the other dogs when they aren’t looking. I am not saying there aren’t consequences to my sometimes awful behavior, but I am lucky in that I don’t have to care. Please enjoy your St. Patrick’s Day and I will share my Chihuahua luck with you. Who knows, you might start howling at work and steal your co-workers lunch and not even care if you get caught. That is the true spirit of this lucky holiday.

DAYLIGHT LOSING TIME

I am trying to decide which hour I want to give up for daylight “savings” time. The way I see it, I will be forced to choose something that is super important to me. I know it can’t be my treat ball time, my eating time, my play time, my snarky time or my sleep time. That really doesn’t leave anything except for maybe poop time. If I give that up, I might have stomach issues and not be able to eat my ham which means I would be giving up ham time and you know that can’t happen. Yikes. I think I will skip it this year and just do all of my normal stuff. It isn’t like I have to be to work on time or set my alarm for some other appointment. My schedule is pretty much set no matter what the clock says. What will you be giving up for your hour of stolen time?

So I didn’t get to attend the big awards event because I was sleeping or eating or maybe pooping, but I was busy. I know that everyone gets all excited about clothing and who looks better than whom in whatever outfit they might be wearing, but I am not concerned with the fashion. I am only concerned with the outcome of the award. In other words, who won? I know that my absence from the awards probably ruined the entire event and I do feel bad so I am going to re-create a little portion of the awards gala that features ME. First I will perform a Chihuahua love song and then my name will be called for BEST IN SHOW. (Oh wait, that is a different award that I will win at another time.) I will then be asked to present an award to someone else and I will decline because that is about someone else winning. I will then accept my Oscar for my performance with my treat ball. I will receive a standing ovation and Chihuahuas all over the world will wish they were me. I bet you wish my version was the one you would have watched!
