Spoiler Alert.....I'm SPOILED

At least weekly, I go to my Aunt Chris’s house for Chihuahua spoiling. Cayenne and I get to spend the entire day with Aunt Chris waiting on us and giving us whatever we want. She does say no sometimes, but that usually involves me stealing food off of her plate or peeing on her carpet. Otherwise, we play and play and when my Mom comes to pick us up, I am not ready to leave. I like “me-time”. Sometimes at my house, I don’t get all of the attention. I know that is hard to believe, but there are a few other dogs there and they seem to expect attention too. I am the little cute dog. I should get all of the attention. OK, so there are a few other little dogs at my house as well, but they know what a selfish jerk I can be and they are ok with that.

Smile

Smile-

February is Pet Dental Month and everyone seems to be afraid of the dentist, but not me. I have to tell you that I know one who is a really good guy. He gives me ham, salmon sticks, turkey meat, or whatever is leftover in his bowl. I bet your dentist doesn’t give you gifts like that. It certainly changes the perception of the dental field if everyone was excited about going because you knew there would be ham waiting for you. And my dentist guy is my friend too. I try to take off his fingers when he gives me treats and he still likes me. That is the true meaning of friendship. So if you want a dentist who is a great guy AND has ham, you need to talk to Dr. Tony Woodward who is a vet dentist. If you are not a dog and want to see Tony, I don’t know if he will have any ham for you. He might give you a salmon stick or something since someone else probably ate all of the ham. Sorry about that, besides he only works on animals so don’t even try to get him to look at your teeth. Anyhow, I think all dentists should offer some sort of meat with their services.

Chuck Doesn't Just Eat Ham, He is a HAM!

Since I have been doing my blog, a few things have come to my attention. OK, so one thing has come to my attention, the camera. Good things come with the camera; treats, me looking cute, my Mom praising me for being so photo friendly and tasty treats. Did I already say that one? So here is the issue, I think my Mom wants me to do stuff, but when I see the camera, I start to pose. Isn’t that what I am supposed to do? All of the dog models in the magazines are posing. They have stopped whatever activity they were engaged in to have their picture taken. I am simply doing what any semi-famous model would do. I am not a dog actor trained to hunt down bad guys or to herd the cattle or to rescue Timmy from the well. If I were trained in those activities, I am sure I would be good at them, but I prefer the quick payback of a treat after a quick photo op. So when I see the camera, it is all about me, sitting there looking cute. Now give me my treat!

Chuck's posing and dozing....Namaste

Dr. Riecks Shantih, Shantih, Shantih

When I was just a puppy, my Mom took me with her to her Yoga class. I was able to participate in many of the poses. I really like ‘down dog’ and ‘up dog’ also works well for me. I was not able to master tree pose or star pose, but I was interested in eagle and crow as I thought this meant a break in the class for a snack (don’t plan on going to a Yoga class for food, it never happened). My very favorite of all of the poses is called Shavasana. It is basically relaxing completely with your eyes closed and breathing. I can do this really well. In fact, most of my time in Yoga class was spent with me lying down with my eyes closed, breathing and snoring. That is part of Yoga, right? Snoring is good and very relaxing. Dr. Riecks at Colorado Canine Orthopedics is also a Yoga guy. I mean he has like 250 Regular Yoga Teaching hours under his belt. I still think my form is a little better than his though, but with some coaching, he should improve nicely. Maybe he can share some new poses with me that really do involve food.
