LITTLE DOGS ARE BIG DOGS?

LOOK HOW BIG I LOOK!!!!
I know that you think little dogs are small, but we can do all the stuff the big dogs do. We can bark at intruders, we can bite intruders, we can eat all of the food you dish out and we can play with the big dog toys. Lacey likes to play with the big dog soccer ball. I personally like to lay on the big dog beds and pretend that I fit. If you want to carry us around you can, but we are mighty and large in personality. Don't tell the big dogs that we had this conversation since they might get jealous that you now know how big we little dogs are!

CHRISTMAS IS NOT JUST ABOUT FOOD? SORT OF NOT.........

MY TIE IS A LITTLE BIT CROOKED, BUT I STILL LOOK GOOD RIGHT?
Christmas is about more than just food. I know that the food is super important, but you must remember that the food presents are the most important thing. This takes food to a whole new level. This isn’t a meal that someone cooked for you, it is a little meal in a basket or a something wrapped in a pretty package with a big giant ham in it. How fun is it to get a big package full of food? This might be a little hint for Santa, but it is also to remind you about what the Christmas spirit is all about. (they also have baskets with beer to go with the ham- this is the best idea to have your meal and beverage in the same basket!)

WHAT A DOG WANTS

If you are struggling with what to buy your dog for Christmas, I have a few suggestions....
Food is always a winner. I am a big fan of ham, but your personal pup might like sausage, chicken or some other snacky meats. When it comes to toys, we like anything that squeaks or holds treats. If you have a cat, you can just give them the wrapping paper from my gift. We also like the treats that you get so don't forget to share your snacks, beer and chips that come in those pretty gift boxes. I can tear through one of those in about three minutes. Sometimes there is a canned ham in there. If there is, I have to get assistance getting it open. So this dog also wants a can opener!!!

CHRISTMAS ISN'T CREEPING UP THIS YEAR

WHAT? I CAN'T HEAR YOU WITH THIS DUMB HAT OVER MY EARS!

LOOK HOW WELL I WAS BEHAVING FOR A MINUTE OR SO

THIS WAS A GOOD CHRISTMAS!!!!!
Holy Cow!!!! or Holy Chihuahua!!! Christmas is almost here. I am so glad that I don't have any shopping to do as I never give presents. I am so much better as a receiver of presents, but I am worried that you might have not noticed that Christmas is coming FAST. Please get out there and get my presents. I don't want you to wait until the last minute and then I end up with a present from a gas station. Please focus! I don't even have time for a weekly photo shoot so you are stuck with a collage of my finest Christmas moments over the years. Maybe I will get ONE good new Christmas photo before the day is here?

THANKSGIVING DELIVERY

COME ON DELIVERY GUY....MY PLATE IS EMPTY!!!
Just a friendly reminder that Thanksgiving is less than one week away. If you haven't yet made your trip to the store. Let me give you a shortlist of items that you need to pick up before the big day.
Turkey
Ham
Pie
This should be easy for you to get before the big day and I am anxiously awaiting my delivery. Did you know that grocery stores will now deliver the goods right to your home? For someone like me who isn't allowed to drive, this is a great thing. I can get a delivery scheduled while my parents are away and have my stash of food ready for the big holiday. I haven't tried it yet, but I am super excited! I will keep you posted on how things go just in time for Thanksgiving.

SUNSHINE MAKES ME HAPPY

This time of year the sunshine is super important. There are days when the sun is reluctant to come out and I have to suffer. When it is cold and dreary, I don't even want to get out of my bag. Come to think of it, I don't want to get out of my bag any other day either, but the cloudy days just seem yuckier. I do come out when the sun is shining on me and warming up my little body. It is my favorite time of the day as long as my parents remember to open the blinds. Let the sunshine in!!!!

MY MOM IS A DOG?

CHECK OUT THE DALMATION'S BIG FEET!
My Mom has always been super jealous of me and other dogs in general. She wishes she could nap all day,  be given treats when she is good and get belly rubs and stuff. I just didn't know that she was going to take it to extremes. I think she might have to get counseling or something. I don't know why she picked a spotted dog though. I don't have any spots and now I am wondering if I should get some. If I get some spots, the fire department might want to hire me. I would make a good Dalmation I think. I bet you all would like to be dogs too. Just start acting the part and people might start giving you treats!!!!

THE HALLOWEEN POSSE

Chuck has gathered his group of gals for a Halloween Hat Celebration. There wasn't a chance of getting them all together in the same picture so they had to have separate photoshoots. Some weren't very happy about it. OK, all weren't very happy about it, but if you want the treat, you have to pose for the photo!! Happy Halloween from Chuck and his friends.

CHUCK-O-LLAMA

THIS LAAMA IS NOT A VEGETARIAN

My friend Becky (who actually has llamas) got me this costume. I think she thought that I would make a cute llama and I agree. I don’t know much about them, but I have heard that they can be a little snarky with some spitting episodes. Not sure what would tick them off and make them spit, but I don’t actually want to see one in person. I think they like to roam the pastures and live off the land which is all well and good, but this llama enjoys his ham. The pastures I roam lead to my food dish and there is no accompanying bad weather. Maybe the real llamas like ham too? Who knows, maybe they spit at you if you forget to bring them ham. ( I can see me doing that too!)

I started this blog on October 12, 2012. Can you believe it? Thank you for hanging out with me, supporting my "ham problem" and standing up for me when I got in trouble a few times. I am a little choked up right now so I will have to crawl under my blanket, but I will see you next week.

OCTOBER BUFFET PART 1

I WAS NOT A BIG FAN OF THE CHICK OUTFIT!

I HAVE MORE THAN ONE OF THESE PUMPKIN THINGS

MY FACE HERE SHOWS MY FEELINGS ABOUT THIS ONE
For this month I would like to take a trip down memory lane. I am going to show you some of my best costumes over the years. I think that I have a great background in my costume variety and each one bugs me in a special way. When my Mom dresses me up, I know I sometimes look silly, but people seem to enjoy the whole dressed up Chihuahua thing. Anyway, enjoy this week's variety showcase and settle down, there will be another one next week!!!!

A TALE OF TWO HORSES

THIS IS A PICTURE OF A PICTURE OF THE NAUGHTY BEASTS- I LOOK BIGGER IN THIS PICTURE HUH?

I just decided to share some barn stories with you because I heard my Mom complaining and thought it was kind of funny. We have 2 pasture pets that live in the barn. They never come in the house so I don’t really get to see them. They are really big. I saw them a few times from afar, but when my Mom tried to take me closer, I chickened out. Their feet are bigger than me so that didn’t sound like a good combination. Anyway, they are a little bit destructive. Even more than me, if you can believe it, but it is true. At night, they like to re-organize the barn. Like they are decorating consultants, they move their feeding trays and anything else that isn’t tied down. On occasion, they move stuff that is tied down so my Mom has to re-tie it down. They sound really high maintenance to me and if that isn’t the pot calling the kettle black, I don’t know what is. (I don’t really even know what that means. Why would the pot be name-calling?)

FALL COLORS AND BEERS!

I am hoping for a nice, slow, warm fall with the leaves turning slowly to a golden color and then falling off slowly. No giant blizzards at the end of September to knock all of those leaves off early. Fall is also beer season, so please start thinking about which beers you want to give me. I do like the more expensive beers, so please don't buy me any of the cheap stuff. Happy fall and here's to all of the beer festivities coming soon!!!!

STAY-CATION

I have been on my staycation all week and I bet you are wondering what I like to do when I am footloose and fancy-free. I wasn't even going to write my blog this week since I have been so busy, but I can't let my fans down. You might think that I am catching up on some reading or spending quality time with my fellow dog housemates, but you would be wrong. Staycations are for napping, eating and drinking ....end of story. I hope this will help you on your next staycation so that you know what to do with yourself!

SLEEPING VEGETARIAN BUNNY NEEDS HAM?

THIS IS THE WAY TO GO  WHEN IT COMES TO SLEEPING. THAT OUTDOOR STUFF ISN'T AS COMFY

YOU HAVE TO LOOK CLOSELY TO SEE HIM, BUT CLEARLY, HE NEEDS HAM
Do you remember the baby bunny that was hanging out by the barn this past spring? I am not sure, but I think that same bunny has moved to the front of my house and claimed it for his own. He is always out there just hanging out or sleeping. Sound familiar? I know! That is what I do too. He doesn't get the same breakfast or dinner that I do, but he seems content munching on the grass and weeds. Yuk! Someone should give that bunny a ham sandwich. I wonder if he will want to come inside the house when winter comes?

TONGUE COMPETITION

Chuck and Buck think they don’t have anything in common anymore. But the truth is…..they do.

They are both 10 ½ years old. They are both spoiled and they both love food. Chuck is the snarkier of the two, but Buck can be a little pistol if protecting his house and our property. Chuck sometimes hides underneath Buck when trying to escape from his pen. He fits perfectly under there and Buck just stands there like he doesn’t know anyone is directly below him. They are quite a pair and we are glad that they are still friends after all of these years. Though if Buck would have tried to steal ham from Chuck, they would not be friends and Buck might be missing an ear or something. In case we forgot to mention, Buck is super smart that way and knows better than to mess with Chuck’s ham. Don’t we all?

NOW YOU SEE HER......

This week's blog focuses on Dutchess. She likes to hide under the bed, but she is kind of a full-figured gal if you know what I mean. Watching her crawl under the bed is pretty humorous. Of course, we don't laugh out loud because she can be a little bit of a snark. (worse than me!). So we just watch her and giggle inside our heads. I don't know why she doesn't do the blanket thing like I do. It is so much easier and quicker. Who knows? The bed is really big so maybe she just needs the space. (that wasn't a joke about her being fat, I promise)

BUCK'S BLOG?

HERE I AM WAITING FOR SOME ATTENTION PLEASE!

I think Buck’s blog instead of Chuck’s has a better ring to it. I told Chuck to just take a vacation for a week and to let me fill in for him. I met some of you last year when I was injured. I suffered a spinal stroke and had to do lots of rehab to get back to being myself. At one point, I couldn’t use any of my legs and it was super scary! During that time, my parents gave me so much attention that I kind of got used to it so now I kind of demand it from them constantly. I expect to be able to run outside with them and visit the barn, the mailbox and take the trash out. My front left leg isn’t perfect, but it is so much better than before. I can run and chase bunnies and I am super grateful for that. Oh wait, I am not allowed to chase bunnies, but I can run by them pretty fast. (I do always look for them) I also like to wait to poop until I am out and running free. I have pooped in so many places, it is hard for my parents to keep up with any poop scooping. I bet they are hoping they don’t find it accidentally if you know what I mean. Anyway, I just wanted to check in with Chuck’s fans,

knowing that you could be my fans too!

ANYTHING FOR LOVE...NO....ANYTHING FOR FOOD....YES!

Some people will do anything for money or love. Some people will do anything for fame. We dogs will do just about anything for a treat. My parents have finally figured this out. After years of yelling at me for being naughty, they are now choosing the smart option. I have a tendency to run out to the yard when they want me to go to my pen. By waving a treat in front of my little nose, I now comply with whatever they need at that moment. Mostly! Every now and then, I forget and do something stupid and miss out on my treat, but I am much better than I used to be. Is your life like this? Do you sometimes forget about the rewards and then kick yourself later for missing out? I am sort of a little Chihuahua philosopher don't you think?

BACK TO SCHOOL? REALLY?

NAPPING- STUDY HALL
NAP PREP CLASS

BREAKFAST CLASS
I can’t believe that some of your kids have to go back to school already. It just doesn’t seem fair since it is still summer, the last time I checked. I am not personally involved in this whole thing because I am home-schooled, but I do feel bad for the little children. If they would like to join me at my home school, I would be happy to welcome you into my home for some quality education. Just so you know the curriculum, I get a little breakfast studying done and then I move on to my next class which is “Advanced Napping”. This class is my favorite. I am super good at it and you will be too! Later that day, I get to focus on “Afternoon Napping” which is also really informative. Then I have the dinner class that focuses a lot on food. As you can see, I have a well -rounded education and I am still able to enjoy my summer. I think that the education system should look at my schooling and offer my education to all who qualify. Which would be everyone!!!! Oh and my school goes all year round, but I don’t mind.

RAIN RAIN GO AWAY

DON'T GO OUTSIDE WITHOUT YOUR RAIN PONCHO!!!!

If I wanted this much rain, I would live in Oregon or Washington. Those places are used to having lots of rain. They probably have boats instead of cars and they probably all have big dogs who like getting wet. I ran outside last night and got soaked. I was only out for a nano-second before I figured out there was a torrential downpour and I was unpleasantly surprised. I ran back in the house and I figured that I could just pee somewhere else. How am I supposed to sit out on the front porch and sip a beer when there is a small hurricane? I have my raincoat ready and now I just have to get some galoshes for small dogs who don’t want their feet to get wet!

ONE BED OR TWO?

THERE IS PLENTY OF ROOM IN HERE!!!!

I am so glad that I have my own bed. The girls have two little beds, but they can’t ever sleep apart. They crunch themselves into one of the little beds and then they will switch to the other little bed. This just goes on all day long. It makes me a little bit annoyed and curious. Why wouldn’t you want your own bed? It is not super fun to be cramped with another little hairy creature. Yikes. Anyway, make sure you protect your space!!!!! Or you might end up having to share.

BUILT IN BLANKET

I'M  NOT ALL THE WAY UNDER RIGHT NOW, BUT IF I WERE YOU WOULDN'T SEE ME!

I just got a new dog bed and I swear someone made this for me. It has a blanket built into the bed so every morning I dive into my bed under the blanket that stays in the same place. It doesn’t move around or get pushed off me. The girls can’t steal it because it is all part of my bed and all mine. I was thinking that this might be nice for some of you people. You could stay under the blanket part if you don’t want anyone to know where you are. Nice huh? I don’t know if these come in big people sizes, but if not, you should make your own.

Happy 4th of July (with sedation?)

THIS PICTURE SHOWS ME HALLUCINATING AFTER BEING DRUGGED? OR I AM JUST A SUPERSTAR!

It is one of my favorite days except for the fireworks. This is a reminder to drug your dogs heavily if they have issues with fireworks. We dogs love the burgers and the super yummy food, but the whole popping, cracking, sparkling and noise are not the part we look forward to. If I was a big dog, I might eat furniture or curtains and have a really good freak out. As it is, I just hide under my blanket and wait for the whole ordeal to end. My suffering would be eased if I could just eat one of those burgers. Like an under the blanket picnic….

A NEW TOY FOR CHUCK?

SUPER CUTE!!!

Summer might finally show up! I know this because all of the little animals are running around and enjoying the nicer weather. Keep in mind, we have had snow and rain which is not the normal introduction to summer. I love to look at the little cows and the baby horses, but my favorite are the baby bunnies. I think they look like the most fun and they are closer to my size than the other animals. If they step on me, I won’t die. Plus, they are really cute and fuzzy. I am confused as to why they don’t want to play with me. I am a fun dog who only bites people and I would be a great friend to have. Sure I would chase them and bark and do other dog stuff, but it is all in fun. It’s not like they are baby pigs and I would be trying to chase my dinner! If you see a baby bunny, make sure you tell them how cool and fun I am.

HAM DOG

I THINK THIS BAG IS ALMOST EMPTY!

Last week I blessed you with my beverage selections. This week I would like to discuss my summer food favorites. There are too many for me to list for you or this blog would read like a large novel. I am going to narrow it way down to my few faves and some discussion of these foods. First there is the hamburger. Now I ask you.. is there actual ham in the burger? If not, why is it called that? Anyway, it tastes good so eat it. My second is the hot dog. Why isn’t it called a Ham Dog? That would make sense when paired with a hamburger. It tastes good too, so who cares what it is called. My third is potato chips. They taste good and the name makes perfect sense.
